Cali Colombia

Spanish conquistador Sebastian de Belalcázar founded Cali in 1536. During Belalcazar's exploration of South America. Belacazar discovered a valley with rich green trees, fertile land, and life giving Cauca River. Within moments he knew it was his destiny to found a city in such a rich and beautiful area. This city is now known as Cali, Colombia.

A City that is Inviting and Tropical

Cali being close to the equator, has a year round climate consistently in the mid 80's to the low 90's during the day. In the evening the refreshing mountain air comes down from the mountains and cools the city to a refreshing mid to low 70's. This is the time you will find many people sitting, relaxing with friends and talking outside in many of the sidewalk restaurants/cafes.

A City of the Modern World

Cali is Colombia's third larges city, which is nestled in a tropical valley and is a major industrial, communication, and transportation center in the Cauca River valley. It is also a modern city hosting seven universities with numerous research centers. The city has three modern malls, Chipichape, Unicentro, and Cosmocentro. The majority of the merchants accept credit cards and your ATM card can access your bank account from many of the banks ATM location.

A City of Culture and History

The city is a host to a wide variety of sites that have cultural and historical significance. These include Theaters, Symphony, Zoos, Museums( One solely dedicated to gold), Parks, and Old World Spanish Architecture.

A City Near You

From Miami or Houston, Cali is approximately a three to four-hour flight, serviced by many airlines with daily flights to and from Cali. With dramatically beautiful rainforests, mountains and beaches, lovely cities and enchantingly friendly people, Colombia is among the world's most attractive vacation destinations.
